When walking in Bavaria
it is plain to see that Germany is proud of its rural heritage. It is a stronghold of the green movement andthe countryswealth has
helped it to conserve its beautifullandscape
and historic monuments. The south
of the countryis the more traditional,
with many a foamingStein of wheat beer being consumed in the beer cellars of Munich,
and Lederhosen often worn by
hikers in the Alpine region of Bavaria, where our Munich to the
Alps tour follows in the steps of King Ludwig through the incomparable
Bavarian lake district to the fairy tale castle of Neuschwanstein on the
Tirolean border.
