" We have just returned
from your 10 Cevennes package. It was an excellent experience; the
organisation ran like clockwork and the hotel arrangements were very
satisfactory, both in terms of food and accommodation."
Tony Prosser,
Glasgow
''For me, the most enjoyable section
was the head of the Lot River, a landscape of great harmony. I also
enjoyed walking past the farms. The wheat fields blowing to the wind
and the herds of sheep and cattle were very pleasing to see. And I
don t recall a single ugly village.''
Mr and Mrs Lightfoot
"This was for us an excellent walking holiday..."
Mr PJ Smith, Wolverhampton
|
"The overall
organisation was excellent. Delightful villages, spectacular views
and a fine feel for the feudal past. These seventy year old knees
complained a bit at one or two of the more rocky paths, but mostly
the climbs were well-graded. A highlight was the wine, local
versions of the well known varieties and truly outstanding. I would
recommend the tour to anyone."
Mr. J.M. Ritchie,Wellingborough, Northants
"Storks, nice villages, mix of French / German culture,
Tarte Flambee and views of forested hills!"
Mr.L. Scales
" As usual we all enjoyed the holiday enormously and
hope to book another one next year."

"I feel I ought to write to you and
tell you what a bloody good holiday we had.
No delays, no cock ups, no missed connections, no stress, no
hassle, beautiful hotels, stunning scenery, gourmet food, superb
rooms, slick administration etc. etc.
I could go on, but I won’t because you’ll get big headed,
stop concentrating on doing really good holidays, and probably quote
me in you brochure…"
Allan Gould |
"The high points included the train
ride Nice - St.Andre, kicking steps in the virgin snow on day 2
(sunshine from then onwards), the Verdun Gorge, white knuckle taxi
rides; lavender, parapenteurs above La Moustiers; the first beer at
each hotel; food, wine, pleasant hoteliers, waiters and taxi
drivers."
R.C. & E.L. Johnson, Durham City |
"We think that we did this walk at
the perfect time of year: Autumn colours, fruits, nuts berries etc.
all added considerably to the enjoyment. Weather was perfect - clear
blue skies, pleasantly warm, but not to hot for walking. Hospitality
was great throughout and every place had something to offer..."
Mr. D Stephenson, Midlothian |
"I am writing to express our
appreciation of your companies arrangements for our recent holiday
in Provence. My wife and I and also her sister and husband were most
impressed with the arrangements made by Sherpa. In particular we
found the overall structure of the walk, that is the length, the
variety of terrains covered and the degree of challenge, were of the
highest quality and led to a really enjoyable experience.."

He helped to make our Honeymoon most special, thankyou very

" I would like to thank
Jon very much for the tour of Tuscany that I did in September. I
thoroughly enjoyed myself. It helped that the members of the group
were all pleasant and we were all mutually compatible, but the walk
was made excellent by Jon's assistance. He was knowledgeable about
all the places we went to, he was flexible and responsive to each
member of the group's needs and wishes and generally great company
and an excellent guide."
Ken Barlow, Brisbane, Australia |
" High Points? - It is difficult to
say, it was all very good. I thought that the holiday was well
planned. We had about the right amount of time at each place and the
walks meant that we were leaving the town when it began to get
crowded and arriving when the crowds were beginning to depart. The
walks were excellent and the descriptions good. We were telephoned
at one stage to check that all was well and we found that most
reassuring."
A. Jackson, Ipswich |
"We are now back in the States and
want to thank you for your arrangements on the "Treasures of

hotel arrangements were all very good and our particular favourite
was Villa Nencini in Voltera."
John Pike, Boston, USA |
''...We are very glad that we
did this tour. We certainly did not believe that we could go almost

"We have just returned from the

Wonderful walking country and well worth the trip. The hotels were

''Just
a line to say how much we enjoyed our walking holiday in the Alto
Aragon.
We look forward to our next holiday with Sherpa''
Mrs S. A. Sellon |
"The region is very beautiful, we found the walks
challenging, but felt a huge sense of achievement at the end of each
day and thoroughly enjoyed the passes we climbed and the rivers that
we followed. The people especially the taxi drivers, were so
friendly, we knew no Spanish but armed with a dictionary, we quickly
learned the necessities and they seemed to enjoy teaching us words
and pronunciations. All the hotels and guesthouses were wonderful. The food was
incredible and always plenty of it....It was a great cultural
adventure for us and we enjoyed every day and fell in love with the
region."
Julie Waters, Rowbarrow, Somerset |
''The route was excellent taking us into some

wildlife fascinating. We
were well looked after in each of our overnight stays, the food and
wine were good and plentiful. We would certainly do this kind of holiday again.''

"Returned yesterday from Hidden Andalucia
and it was fantastic! Everything went extremely well, all the
arrangements were in place for us and we are all agreed that
it was one of the best holidays ever. The walking was excellent,
the scenery magnificent - we really did feel a part of the

"This was our first walking holiday and we had no idea what
to expect. But we could not have been more delighted! From the very
initial contact with yourselves (Trina), to John dropping us off at
the Parador, everything went smoothly. The length and difficulty of

"The only word that
describes our experience is WOW... All 3 of your hotels had a
different personality and all 3 were most satisfactory. Zermatt was
absolutely awesome... The view of the Matterhorn from our balcony at
the Hotel Touring was literally beyond description. We walked the
Schynige Platte trail, lunched at the Faulhorn, hiked the wonderful
Eiger Trail, drank fresh milk from the dairy at Winteregg, took time
to admire the Matterhorn from the Grindjisee and ate a wonderful
lunch outside in Zmutt. What more could we ask of a vacation. So,
thanks Sherpa for arranging such a wonderful trip for us."

Alpine Pass Route
''Just a quick to note to thank you for all of the arrangements
you made on my recent Swiss Alpine Pass Route trip! My broadcast
journalism career has allowed me to do many interesting and exciting
things over the years but the two weeks I spent hiking through the
Alps is among the top two or three.
My girlfriend and I began the hike in Engelberg on July 27th and
finished in Saanen on Aug. 8th. The sites we saw, the people we met,
the places we stayed and the hiking directions supplied were all
first rate. There was never a worry about our baggage and we always
knew that a hot shower and a good meal would be waiting when we
arrived at our next destination.
The first week's weather was perfect...warm and sunny. The rain and
snow did force us to miss going over one pass during the wet second
week of the trip...but that's the risk when you hike in the
mountains.
This was my 10th trip to Europe and am usually loath to book any
sort of tour. But this was such a first rate experience that I will
definitely use your services again. Thanks again for running such a
professional organization. Cheers!"
