Cycle the rolling hills of Cork and coast where meadows
reach the sea and colourful villages brighten the landscape
Quiet roads lined with wild, deeply scented flowers, plunging coastline and
rural landscapes, this tour encapsulates the essence of southern Ireland,
from rolling green fields to spectacular coastal rides. West Cork is also
best known for its colourful villages all of which are brightly painted in a
wonderful array of vibrant colours, with hanging baskets brimming with
flowers out the front of every pub and shop. This is the more cosmopolitan
part of rural Ireland with many choosing to settle in this idyllic setting. After
a visit to the colourful town of Kinsale, where artists mingle with fishermen,
the cycle route heads to Bantry. This town is situated beneath the sheltering
hills at the head of famous Bantry Bay, one of the most beautiful bays along
the Irish coasts. The route then heads inland to Killarney, the gateway to the
Ring of Kerry. Staying in specially handpicked B&Bs and Inns, the trip offers
a full Irish cultural experience.
