Experience the Camino
from the Pyrenees in France
to the Cathedral in
Santiago de Compostela
The French Route of the Camino de Santiago travels through
northern Spain from the Pyrenees Mountains via the Rioja wine
region, past picturesque towns and villages and the hills of Galicia
to Santiago de Compostela. The route has been divided into four
stages. Choose from the Pyrenees section through Pamplona to
Logrono, a walk through the infamous Meseta between Burgos and
Leon or the classic route from Leon to Santiago. The quieter Camino
Primitivo and the historic Camino Norte are excellent alternatives
to the French route. For those short on time the eight day section
between Sarria and Santiago is a must. Pilgrims walking more than
100km to reach the cathedral at Santiago will receive a Pilgrims
Certificate. For a complete Camino experience continue from
Santiago to the Atlantic Coast and Cape Finesterre.
