Cycle through a food and wine lover's paradise in the
region of Piedmont
Occupying a large area bordering France and Switzerland, Piedmont is the
ancient dominion of the Savoys, the ill‑fated royal family who ruled Italy
from the Unification in 1870 until abdication in 1946. This trip allows you
to cycle through the stunning countryside and vineyards of the regions
of Langhe and Monferrato. Each day cycle past small villages and enjoy
panoramic views over rolling hills. Piedmont is also a region where food
comes first, with a host of specialities in an area which boasts centuries
old culinary traditions and outstanding top quality produce appreciated

A centre based walking holiday exploring the mountain
trails and villa gardens of Italy's magnificent Lake Como
Straddling Lombardy and Piedmont, the great lakes of northern Italy have
been a popular holiday destination since Roman times, evidenced by the
array of lavish villas and sumptuous gardens which line the shores. Away
from the affluent holiday centres is a feast of walking trails exploring
the forested valleys, mountain tops and traditional villages which have
retained their unique character. The old tracks which cross the mountains
on the west side of Lake Como, used even today by the local people to
reach the alpine pastures called 'Monti' ('Munt' in the local dialect) have
been transformed into a series of way marked trails offering exceptional
views. This program takes in the highlights of Lake Como within a flexible
framework with a selection of walks of varying lengths and difficulty to
choose from along the Monti Lariani (Lario being the ancient name of Lake
Como). With accommodation in a small family run hotel there is ample
opportunity to experience the excellent regional cuisine allowing a complete
appreciation of the area.
